First Steps
On Mondays in term-time, 1:30 - 2:30pm
in St Thomas' Church
A chance for babies and pre-schoolers with their parents and carers to join in craft activities, drinks, toys and plenty of chat, followed by songs, stories and prayers together.
Youth Essence 7.30 to 9.00 Discussion and Chat, for school year 9 and above.
Thursdays
Thursday at St T's 6.00pm to 7.00pm Games, Stories and Crafts for Primary School Children
Sundays
Sunday School 10.30 to 11.20 approx for ages 3 to 10
Bible stories, crafts, songs, prayers and games in separate groups for the different ages.
Sunday School takes place at the same time as our main morning service so that families can come to church together. Parents can bring children to the Galilee Room before the service begins, and parents of very young children can ask to stay with their children until they are confident to be left (please discuss this with the Sunday School leaders).
When there is a Holy Communion service (usually the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month) children join the service for the sharing of communion with the whole family at about 11.20am. Families can then come forward to receive bread and wine together.
When there is a Family Service (usually the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month) children start, and end, the morning in the main service. On the 1st Sunday of the month the whole service is shortened and there is an illustrated family talk given in place of the sermon - children are part of the whole service. On the 3rd Sunday of the month, although the children start, and end, the morning in church, they leave for about 25 minutes of their own instruction while the adults have a sermon etc. The children then re-join the service for the last few minutes.
Pathfinders Sunday Morning Group for ages 11 to 15
Learning about Christian things in the context of fun, games, chat and small groups.
Pathfinders meet in the Church Hall on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. There are leaders available there from 10.20am to allow the young people to be dropped off before the morning service. They meet in the Hall from 10.30 to about 11.20am, then they come over to the church to share in the last part of the Communion Service.
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, the young people are present in church for the whole service.
